FLAKES is coming!

The movie is all wrapped up and Jonah has been posting some news and updates over on www.powderwhore.com. We are both really excited about how our baby turned out. We are working on getting the trailer out there and promoting the film. Jonah is organizing the tour schedule, which should be wrapped up by the end of the month.

View trailer HERE.

We’ve sent out a few screener copies for review and it’s been great feedback so far. Jonah and I spend way too long with the footage and you end up seeing it just as clips and transitions, so it’s hard to step back and see it like most viewers will. It’s always nerve wracking to spend soooooo much time working on something and then waiting to see how it’s received. I can’t wait for the tour, which is the best part, sitting in the dark at the back of the theatre with the crowd and seeing and hearing it through them and you can enjoy it through their enjoyment.

Whippet Retrival

If you’ve been following along, last spring this happened-

During the rappel Darrell set his whippets down and forgot them. By the time he remembered, we were too far committed to the descent to retrieve them.

Darrell happy as can be with 2 brand new whippets in hand.

This is where they were accidentally abandoned.

I’ve felt a bit bad about this ever since it happened, so I thought I would go see if I could find the lost poles. I thought about seeing if Darrell wanted to join me, but he suffered enough and he’s training hard for an upcoming 100 mile endurance mt bike race. Good luck next week!

I thought it would be easier without snow, but not really the case.

I was very happy and surprised to see these guys sitting there all behaved like they had just been set there.

Now I get to use them as ransom to get Darrell to come back and successfully ski this son of a bitch!

Take Me To The River, Dip Me In The Water!

It’s been a long long time (maybe since 1998) that I haven’t been working long hours through the summer to save up for winter. First it was manual labor in San Diego, then over the past few season’s I’ve been holed up scrambling to put out something that could resemble a ski movie.

This summer, thanks to Jonah and his new found editing skills and our improved organization, I’ve had a chance to get out and enjoy the summer more.

I was lucky enough to be invited along on a river trip down the Desolation and Gray Canyon section of the Green River.
