Jim Harris and I attempted to traverse Mt Olympus, Twin Peaks and Lone Peak in one day. The total route is 17,000ft of climbing and descending over roughly 23miles. I’ve never so underestimated the terrain and time it would take and at the end of a very long day the heat, route chosen and difficult scrambling shut us down with 2 out of 3 peaks.
Here is Jim on top of Twin Peaks in the 90+ temps. I’ll turn the time over to Jim and his blog to tell the story HERE.
I was talking to one of my best friends from high school the other day and he told me he and a buddy were hiking around Lisa Falls a couple months ago when they saw these 2 other dudes come walking down that had just hiked up mount Oly, and further on to Twin, and down Lisa Falls. He said they looked pretty ragged. I told him…..I think I know that guy, did he look like he uses “brogaine?”
Yeah, we had to explain where we had come from a few times. You been out on the Mega’s yet?
Hello there, just doing some research for my Olympus website. Truly more information than you can imagine on the web. Wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, but cool site. Take care.
