Once the film is made it’s time to share it with the WORLD, or at least a very small and dedicated group of snow enthusiasts in select locations throughout the West.
- It all kicks off at Brewvies in Salt Lake City. This year a record breaking number of powderwhores (over 1000) came out to win swag, support the Utah Avalanche Center and transition to winter by white washing their brains.
- “It’s going to be a Mega winter” says this lucky winner of a shiny pair of Black Diamond Megawatts.
We work with a ton of great sponsors who help support our travels and provide great gear for the tour! Thanks to their donations we helped raise over 30K for local non-profits last season. Let’s take a brief moment to highlight our presenting and title sponsors and give you a run down of items you could win should you choose to attend ELEVATION on tour this year.
Voile (splitboards, skis, bindings, voile straps)
Backcoutry.com (hats, beanies, gift certs)
Scarpa (boots, enough said)
Mountain Hardwear (outerwear, gloves, t’s, hats)
Black Diamond (skis, poles, avalung packs, hats)
Flylow (outerwear, hats, vests)
Backcountry Magazine (free subscriptions)
And a long list of tour sponsors; Gu, La Sportiva, 22 Designs, Big Sky Brewery, ProBar, Gnarly Nutrition, Goal Zero, Mammut, Pieps, Kuhl, G3, Liberty Bottles.
- The tour is the only place you can sign up for our GRAND RAFFLE. At the end of our tour all these sponsors are giving away skis, splitboards, outerwear, boots and gift certificates.
- The rig is loaded up and it’s time to hit the road!
- A key to our extreme success has been keeping our costs low. Hotels add up so we added bunk beds and shelving to this used utility trailer and created the swag-on wagon. This way we can park and camp inconspicuously. We think that Warren Miller would be proud.
- If you build it they will come. And if you drink, you’ll feel more comfortable when they do arrive.
- Miraculously, people come out to sit in the dark as we project our dreams onto the screen.
- It’s late nights and early mornings and covering many miles. We discuss camera gear, ski films, relationships, ski towns, skis and how many more years we will continue down this road.
- Early on we realized we need our own A/V set-up so we can provide the film in the best possible quality and in any possible setting. Since then we’ve shown in taverns, casinos, yoga studios, bars, breweries, rec centers, ski shops, libraries, banquet halls, restaurants, museums and even some theaters.
- In total we do over 40 shows. It starts out with a 19 day-19 show stretch up through Montana over to the PNW and down to Tahoe. Then it’s home for a week and off for 15 nights and 15 shows through Colorado. A new town and new show with the same film every night. Things get blurry.
- Merchandising, merchandising, merchandising. Thanks to Chris Erickson and Blowfish Designs for the custom hats only available on tour.
- Free stickers and GU!
- A coffee break and time to take care of business at the Mt Vernon CO-OP.
- Our legal council didn’t inform us how many cases it takes for it to be considered bootlegging, but they did assure us we would be found guilty. Thanks to Big Sky Brewery for sponsoring the tour. Wherever possible we provide cold beer for free, or small donation for avy centers, etc.
- We don’t guarantee that we’ll start on time, or that you’ll get a seat, or even that you’ll enjoy the film. We only guarantee that we tried hard to make the best film we knew how to make.
