Leaving bright and early tomorrow morning for one last moto trip before the snow falls (fingers crossed).
The ‘plan’ is to head south to Hanksville staying on as much dirt as possible while camping along the way. Braaaaaap Braaap.

No problem with the delayed reponse Noah. I’ve been goggling my brains out and have been to a few stores. Amazingly, based on the reviews I’ve seen and trying to get the right mix between street and dirt (with a dirt orientation), I’ve pretty much decided over the last week or so that the DRZ 400 is likely the best one for me. Please contact me at woesteut@comcast.net or 801-450-5588.
Thanks,
John
John,
Sorry for the delayed response! The two trips were with different folks. The first ride to Jax most the guys were on the Honda 450’s and the second trip was 250’s. I’m really new to the ‘sport’ and I’m probably not the best resource. What I noticed was the experienced riders weren’t any slower on the 250’s, but they seemed much more maneuverable. So, if you’re going to do more technical single track you can get away with a 250, but highway riding or really flying on the dirt roads would make a bigger big more enjoyable. I’m selling mine if you’re interested?? DRZ 400
Noah,
I love how you get out on the motos and am thinking about getting one in the same class (dual-sport or with street conversion). What kind of bikes are you guys riding? I think I’m seeting XR650’s in Honda, but maybe they are CRF450’s with street kits). I met Guy up Thomas Fork last winter and learned he’s from Minnesota. I’m from North Dakota (in SLC 24 yrs), and am thinking hard about getting back into my moto head roots a bit. Any model info or advice will be really appreciated. Great stuff with the Powder Whores. You have a talent for mixing the sports aspect with nature, and that’s why we do it.
John
